DENVER (AP) -- Ryan Vogelsong struggled through a rough first inning. He couldn't get out of the second.

Vogelsong was tagged for three of the Rockies' five home runs in his shortest outing as a Giant, and Colorado beat San Francisco 8-2 on Monday night.

"I just didn't throw good pitches," Vogelsong said. "I never got into a rhythm. I just didn't throw the ball where I wanted to and how I wanted to."

The Rockies got to Vogelsong for five runs on six hits in 1 1-3 innings, and afterward, Vogelsong was as hard on himself as the Rockies were on him.

"I'm definitely not happy about it. It's embarrassing really," Vogelsong said.

He answered bluntly when asked what he could do differently next time out. "Throw better," he said.

Charlie Blackmon hit the first of his two home runs off Vogelsong in the second inning. Nolan Arenado and Wilin Rosario also connected off Vogelsong in the Rockies' four-run first.

"He just could not get the ball where he wanted," Giants manager Bruce Bochy said. "It was getting away from him, getting up in the zone. They took advantage of it."

David Huff, who relieved Vogelsong in the second inning, strained his left quad running out an infield single leading off the third inning, his first major league hit. Huff was replaced in the bottom of the third by Yusmeiro Petit and was scheduled to undergo an MRI to determine the severity of the injury.

Bochy said, however, that Huff, one of the team's long relievers, may miss some time.

"It doesn't look good," he said. "He's going to get an MRI (Tuesday). He did a pretty good job on it. I think we can answer this better tomorrow but more than likely he's heading to the DL."

Huff said the injury occurred as he raced down the first base line.

"I felt it a few steps before the bag," he said. "It just kind of felt like it tightened up. Nothing really popped. It gradually kept tightening up some more as I went around the bases. Then when I got in and went into the dugout, I tried to put some weight on it to simulate pushing off the rubber. It just didn't feel right."

Corey Dickerson also homered for the Rockies, who've won four of the last five. It was Blackmon's first multihomer game of his career.

Jorge De La Rosa (1-3) rediscovered his rhythm, allowing five hits and one run for his first victory of the season.

Blackmon lined solo homers in the second and eighth innings. He's now hitting .411 this season.

Arenado, who was moved up to the No. 2 spot in the order, extended his hitting streak to a career-high 12 games.

Colorado pounced on the Giants in the first, with Arenado and Rosario hitting homers off Vogelsong, who threw 44 pitches in the inning.

It didn't get any better in the second when Blackmon hit a solo homer off Vogelsong. The Giants pulled him four batters later.

NOTES: OF Angel Pagan was ejected in the seventh for arguing a called third strike. ... Vogelsong's shortest start of his career was Sept. 24, 2004, when he was with Pittsburgh. He faced seven Cincinnati batters and didn't record an out. ... LHP Madison Bumgarner (2-1) will take the mound Tuesday. The Rockies counter with lefty Franklin Morales (1-1).
